HVAC or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning is the system that most people depend on to keep their indoor environment comfortable. The systems provide thermal control along with improved air quality for indoor environments. Filtration systems, usually located in air returns, provide a cleaner air quality. Additional filtration and humidity controls are also features of an HVAC system. The HVAC systems are vital and essential parts of modern structures. The structures include single-family homes, apartment buildings, hotels, senior living facilities, and various types of vehicles ranging from cars to cruise ships and almost any imaginable enclosed environment where humans live and work.
The introduction of the HVAC system dates back to 1902 to an air-conditioning system designed by Alfred Wolff. Wolff’s system was specially designed for the New York Stock Exchange. Willis Carrier equipped a printing company with an air-conditioning system within the same period. Coyne College was instrumental in offering an HVAC training course in 1899. The industrial revolution created the industry that made HVAC possible while new methods, modernization, higher efficiency, and system controls are currently being introduced by companies and individuals worldwide.
Modern societies with the advent of advanced forms of the HVAC system have become aware that the failure of an individual component within the system often results in the entire system failing. System reliability is especially crucial for residences and small offices that depend on one system to control their interior environment. Keeping track of the vital parameters that must be in place for an HVAC system to operate is essential to maintain the overall health of a system and keep it running efficiently. Often, a single component that is not functioning correctly or has failed can affect the entire system's operation. The reporting of operational information on any HVAC currently requires a technician to tap into the system to get data concerning any system component. A method is needed reporting parameters of an operating system to a homeowner or a service company responsible for the system. The parameters will enable timely repairs and possibly avoid more catastrophic failures by replacing or repairing components before they become critical to the unit's operation
The HVAC Monitoring System is an intelligent and unique solution to the issue of monitoring and processing data from the HVAC system. The system features a data collecting and sending unit that is connected to the outdoor condensing unit for an air- conditioning system and a separate unit that attaches to the central heating furnace. The monitor unit consists of a computer-controlled self-contained system. The unit transmits critical data to the receiver via a reliable frequency band. This frequency features superior range, low power and immunity from interference from all local WIFI frequencies. The monitor on the A/C and heating units examine the systems on a non-stop 24/7 basis looking for any operation outside the normal operating parameters. The system provides early detection of anomalies or unusual deviation of standard parameters. Early detection of problems can limit damage or costly repairs if the situation is allowed to continue unabated. Hard failures are also detected so that maintenance can be performed promptly and help eliminate surprises. Data is transmitted to the receiver unit, usually located in a convenient place such as adjacent to the thermostat. The receiver unit processes data from the monitor unit and is wired in or operates on batteries. An audible alarm in the receiver unit alerts the user that a problem is developing or a failure has occurred.
The heating unit monitors and processes data. Necessary actions that indicate whether any problems exist. Data is sent to the same receiver as the A/C unit so that the entire HVAC system is fully monitored. The HVAC Monitoring System will save money and time due to any fault in the HVAC system that would otherwise go undetected until a major failure occurs. The homeowner and business owner will also appreciate the peace of mind that the HVAC Monitoring System can bring by making the data available directly to the user in real time. The user can know directly about their home or their business and know that their HVAC system is functioning correctly or calls in needed service should an issue be detected.
